Empowering Students to Learn Skills, Confidence, and Succeed
Kulya Institution began in 2019 with a clear purpose: to support Pakistani, Indian, Bangladeshi, and Nepali communities in Italy so they can build confidence, independence, and better futures. Many people in these communities were limited in their daily lives because they could only speak their native languages like Punjabi, Urdu, and Hindi, and only a few understood English or Italian.
We started by focusing on Italian language education. Learning the local language helps our students take care of everyday tasks—visiting their children’s schools, speaking with teachers, booking appointments, and attending medical visits without relying on others. This is especially important for women, who often spend more time at home and face extra barriers. Helping them learn the language gives them a stronger voice, more confidence, and the ability to take charge of their day-to-day life.

Alongside language support, we guide our students in driving. This includes preparing them for the driving theory exam and supporting them during the practical driving process. These skills open doors to independence, new opportunities, and greater freedom to move around and support their families.
We’re proud of the many women and men who have completed our Italian language courses, passed their driving theory exams, earned their driving licenses, and are now confidently driving across Italy. Seeing women step into a new level of independence—managing their daily responsibilities, helping their families, and contributing to the community—has been one of our greatest achievements.
